Harmony Road 1 - Beginner Piano
Ready to begin music education with your child? Have you been considering piano lessons? Come try our exclusive Harmony Road program! How exclusive? We are currently the only licensed Harmony Road facility in the state of Michigan! What we affectionately call "HR" is a dynamic music readiness program for young children and their caregiver. Not only is the program a wonderful opportunity for working parents to spend an evening with their child, having you in the room with them is proven to improve their understanding. Whether a student wants to be a pianist or not, we encourage all of our students to start their musical journey here.
What can you expect from a Harmony Road class? A LOT! During the course of a 45-minute class, students will sing, play classroom instruments, work on music theory at the white board, practice rhythm exercies, work on aural skills (also known as ear training), participate in keyboard exploration and activities, learn solfege (after all, do do do is a note we know!), and get all of our wiggles out with movement activities. These classes are desiged with children in mind, so we bounce from station to station every 3-5 minutes with the littles and work our way up from there. Class sizes are small, capping at seven students, and each class will set their own pace. Harmony Road is a multi-year arc culminating in a graduation ceremony about when students reach Middle School.
Students who graduate from Harmony Road have amazing aptitude for other instuments because they truely understand how music works. The Harmony Road graduation also lines up wonderfully with when students are ready to begin school band. Don't worry, once your child is ready to move on to a different instrument, they can still stay at UpBeat by studying privately with one of our instrument specialists.
As with all UpBeat group classes, there are no hidden fees - all lesson materials are included in your tuition.
